High Performance Technical Textile

This course is beneficial to students of UG (B.E/B.Tech) or PG (M.Tech) students of (Textile Technology/ Textile Chemistry/ Textile Engineering etc.)

This course targets the almost all the important areas of technical textiles. Start with filtration textiles, protective textile, medical textile, smart textiles, automotive textile, agro textile, geotextile etc.

Further, it focuses on the protective aspects, with specific areas of technical textiles depending on the product characteristics, functional requirements and end-use applications.

• Biography (about the author):

Mr. Prakash Khude is currently working as Senior Scientific Officer (Research and Development) at Northern India Textile Research Association, Ghaziabad. Prior Joining NITRA, he was working as Assistant Professor under TEQIP-III (Jan 2018- Sept 2021) at MLV Textile & Engineering College, Bhilwara (Rajasthan). He has taught fibre science, fabric manufacturing, technical textile, engineering of textile structure, knitting technology at undergraduate levels. His research interest lies in the areas of Technical Textile, weaving, knitting, antibacterial textile, and composite materials.

He has published 7 articles in scientific journals and conference proceddings. He has presented around 25 research paper in international and national conferences. Also, He has organized 14 workshops, seminars under TEQIP-III. Attended 15 FDP/STTP Program organized by different organizations. Also, He delivered 10 experts talks in various esteemed institutes likes, Amity University, JSS Science and Technology University, Mysore etc. He has guided over 20 thesis, leading to B.Tech Degree.

He is the recipient of Best All India Student Project Award (PG-Level) (2013) , Pearl Academy, New Delhi, Voltas Limited Award , Sintex Limited Award , Late Prof.V.R Wadekar Award (2011), Dr. D.B Ajagaonkar Award, B.Text (TT), Amaravati Garments Award, Nawal Tibariwala Award, Late.Sadasiv Bhide Award , Best Product Innovation Award, FTC-2018 (International conference), IIT Delhi. He is Shivaji University Gold Medallist (2011) in B.Text (Textile Technology).

He graduated from DKTE Textile & Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji (B.Text in Textile Technology) in 2011 (First Rank), and post graduated from NIT Jalandhar in 2014 with Second Rank and Pursuing the PhD from IIT Delhi. He has more than 8 years of experience of academia and industry.

He has delivered the lecture entitled “Engineering of Fabrics for UV Protection” for Students of master study programme of Textile Materials and Design at University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Slovenia which was held on June 13, 2017 within the Indo-Slovenian Bilateral Cooperation No. SLO/IN/15-17-012.

He in past holds the position such as President of Textile Engineers Society (TES), MLVTEC Bhilwara, PhD Representative (CAIC and SAC, IIT Delhi), Member of Board of Academic Programme (BAP), IIT Delhi, Senator, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from May 2017-18. He also assisted in Training and Placement activities of MLVTEC Bhilwara during 2018-21. He is also a reviewer of Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Journal of Textile Institute, Journal of Industrial Textiles, Textile Research Journal, Material Research Express and Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series E (IEIE).
